Exhibiting Artist

Cynthia Boyd (also known as Cinzia Bonada), adopted the Italian pseudonym “CINZIA” whilst dancing in Italy. She trained as a classical dancer at the Bush Davies School winning the Adeline Genee Medal in 1955 before joining the Royal Ballet School. However, Bonada became a full time painter after she moved to live in England with her family. There she painted with Charles Fowler in Richmond, undertaking many portrait commissions. 

Bonada’s participated in many group exhibitions at the RA, NEAC, RBA, RP, New Grafton and had successful solo exhibitions at Mall Galleries in the ’80s. She is also a founder member of the Small Paintings Group.

Boanda has been featured in The Artist Magazine and won first prize for Artistic Excellence from Chelsea and Westminster Arts Council two years running. She also appeared in Tom Coates’ publication of Portraits.
